UK trade wants Nintendo to follow with Wii price drop

Nintendo needs to cut the Wii's price.
It was bound to happen. When Sony announced the cheaper PS3 Slim and Microsoft followed with an Xbox 360 price cut, the onus was on Nintendo to follow suit or risk losing their healthy lead. MCV revealed that U.K. trade thinks a Wii price drop this Q4 could be the only way for Nintendo to “regain its edge” over the Xbox 360 and PS3.

Nintendo again leads Japan console wars
Again, the DSi leads the handheld race.
Japanese hardware sales may always have the same winner in this console generation (i.e. Nintendo), but the Kyoto-based company’s means for reaching the top varies from time to time. This week, Nintendo again leads the console wars because of two games: Tomodachi Collection for the DS and Wii Sports Resort for—you guessed it—the Wii.

Nintendo DSi back on top in Japan

Nintendo's DSi is still #1 in Japan. Yawn.
The world is back to normal, at least in Nintendo’s eyes. Kotaku revealed that after a few weeks of declining sales, the Japanese console hardware market has finally gotten out of a funk. You know what that means: Nintendo is still on top, and its products are selling like crazy. Of course, this rise is pretty minor compared to typical year-end numbers, but up is up and you can’t argue with that.

Maintenance tunnel for Dead Rising Wii causes concerns

Dead Rising Wii is coming this month.
I love the Wii as much as the next Nintendo fan, but when news broke out that Dead Rising was coming to the console, I just had to stay on the fence. Watching the latest video for Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop still leaves me ambivalent.
