You're all in the same boat--literally.
Are you one of the gamers who found New Super Mario Bros. on the DS too easy? Great news: the upcoming New Super Mario Bros. Wii is going to be so hard your self-esteem is going to drop like a rock. At least, that’s what the game journos at MTV Multiplayer and Joystiq said. MTV thinks New Super Mario Bros. Wii is “as hard as Contra,” while Joystiq expects people playing the game’s coop mode to turn homicidal.
If like me, you find the idea of exasperating, controller-hurling gameplay a thrill, then you’re probably aching for New Super Mario Bros. Wii. While you’re waiting for the November 15 launch to arrive, watch the game’s latest trailer—maybe you’ll find something that strikes your fancy.

However, this week’s video may be the strangest combination you’ve seen yet: Super Mario meets Quentin Tarantino in Inglorious Plummers—a spoof of Tarantino’s upcoming film Inglorious Basterds.

Modder fashions Nintendo purse

Just add one NES controller, and voilà.
More often than not, gaming is associated as a male activity. And why not? Gaming shirts, movies, and doodads are usually made for the guys. Modder Jeri Ellsworth seeks to change all that by turning her purse into a Nintendo masterpiece that could put Princess Peach to shame. Ellsworth slapped together a couple of NES controllers and an LCD for some old-school Super Mario. Observe:

Oddities: Super Mario Tesla coils
Ahh, geeks. Given enough time on their hands, they’ll do anything—and that includes making two huge seven-foot Tesla coils to play the Super Mario Bros. theme. Steve Ward and Jeff Larson, the creators of the Tesla coils, didn’t exactly make them contraptions for kicks. They actually took part in the 2007 Lightning on the Lawn Teslathon in Baraboo, Wisconsin.
