Spore Hero, Spore Hero Arena go gold

Everybody seems to be getting into the “Hero” game these days. The latest is EA with its Spore Hero and Spore Hero Arena for Nintendo’s Wii and DS. According to EA, both Spore spin-offs have just gone gold. In other words, the games are finished and ready for manufacturing. Both games will be available at North American retailers on Oct. 6 and internationally on Oct. 9.

Reviews – Spore Creatures (DS)
Spore Creatures is a charming game, and is nothing like its PC counterpart, but that’s not necessarily a bad or good thing. By itself, Spore Creatures is actually not bad. However, since the game carries the “Spore” moniker, comparisons and criticisms can’t be avoided.

Review Surfing – Spore Creatures (DS)
A lot has been said about Spore, the new magnum opus of The Sims-creator Will Wright. And just like The Sims, the main PC game of EA’s new franchise has given birth to spin-offs. In Spore’s case, EA has spawned Spore Creatures for the Nintendo DS. Is Spore Creatures as good as its PC cousin? If one were to compare each game by virtue of capability, of course the answer is no.
