Fancy some Contra? If you owned an NES back in 1988, you’re probably getting misty-eyed from the nostalgia. Since its original release, Contra has occasionally returned to punish/entertain the hardcore fan. Machinima recently came out with a different kind of Contra—a Half-Life 2 mod, to be exact. The result: You get to see the entire jungle stage in 3D, but instead of the machine-gun toting Billy or Lance, you get Gordon Freeman, the Half-Life protagonist.

Little Mac is back!

Punch-Out!! is back!

The mention of Punch-Out!! to any 80s child would get them misty eyed with nostalgia and with good reason. Not only did the original game wean a generation of young gamers, but it also took the NES by storm with its cast of colorful boxers and enduring gameplay that remains enjoyable to this day. Interestingly, the new Wii version of Punch-Out!! plays a lot like the NES version, and that’s what makes it so remarkable.

If you’re an old-school Nintendo fan, then you’re probably excited these days. In less than a week, Punch-Out!!, a highly-anticipated boxing game for the Wii, would finally be released.
