Nintendo DSi back on top in Japan

Nintendo's DSi is still #1 in Japan. Yawn.
The world is back to normal, at least in Nintendo’s eyes. Kotaku revealed that after a few weeks of declining sales, the Japanese console hardware market has finally gotten out of a funk. You know what that means: Nintendo is still on top, and its products are selling like crazy. Of course, this rise is pretty minor compared to typical year-end numbers, but up is up and you can’t argue with that.

Nintendo Wii sets U.S. sales record

So much for the recession.
Okay, so the recession does somehow make its mark. Research firm NPD revealed that the U.S. console market suffered a 23% year-on-year decline during May 2009. This didn’t seem to stop Nintendo’s rampage, however. Once again, Nintendo has set a record in Wii sales. Find out more after the jump.

Nintendo sells more Wiis, DSes during recession in U.S.

Recession? What recession?
Do you still remember what was happening last January 2009? Of course you do. Companies were laying off personnel left and right as the global recession makes things more difficult for everyone. Nintendo, on the other hand, was selling its Wiis and DSes in the U.S. like there was no tomorrow. Here’s the stranger part: Nintendo performed even better than its January 2008 numbers.

DS outsells PSP in Japan during August

If you’ve been paying attention to the news, then you probably heard that Sony’s PlayStation Portable has been outselling the Nintendo DS in Japan. Yes, it almost sounded like hell has frozen over as well. However, it looks like the natural order of things have returned as the DS went back to #1 last August. Read more
