Review Surfing – Guitar Hero On Tour: Decades (DS)
Whatever the console or handheld, Guitar Hero is a monster to be reckoned with. The franchise may be somewhat lagging behind Rock Band, but its cultural significance can never be understated. Interestingly, of the two musical giants competing for your money, only Guitar Hero was able to land on the Nintendo DS.

Guitar Hero World Tour is currently the hottest game for the Nintendo Wii, and with good reason: it’s finally as good as Rock Band. If you previously switched to Guitar Hero’s rival because of the band-focused gameplay, then you’d be pleased to know that World Tour finally integrates the same features—and in some cases—actually improves on the Rock Band formula.

Are you raring for Guitar Hero World Tour? You should be. The upcoming Guitar Hero installment would be the first in the series to have drum and microphone controllers for vocals and percussions. That means the gameplay in Guitar Hero World Tour would be similar to Rock Band.

NPD: Nintendo DS, Wii rule hardware roost for August

The latest news on the hardware front doesn’t surprise anymore. According to the NPD Group, the Nintendo DS and Wii are once again on top of the U.S. hardware heap for the month of August 2008. The market research company revealed that the DS is the leader, selling 518,300 units while the Wii is a close second at 453,000.
