Shattered Memories might just be the next great third-party Wii game.

Just when you’re about to give up on third-party games on the Wii, a promising new title pops up and tells you otherwise. Here are some things that make Silent Hill: Shattered Memories very promising:

  • Dynamic lighting;
  • Occasionally-flickering flashlight;
  • Constant mind screwing;
  • Sharp visuals and great audio;
  • Contextual comments by the protagonist;
  • Appropriate motion controls;
  • Smart monsters–at least they looked smart in the second trailer;
  • And best of all—no weapons and combat! You’re going to have to run like hell.

Silent Hill: Shattered Memories has just come out today. If you’re looking for a great Wii purchase not named Mario or Zelda this holiday season, then you should really give this game a hard look.
