Nintendo, Nikkei to make stock market game

The Nintendo DS gets another weird game.
The Nintendo DS is home to the weirdest games on the planet. There are games that are said to improve one’s facial features through facial exercises, while there are others about—erm–groping teen witches, and taking care of virtual “pet” babies, among others. Well, the list is about to get even longer.
According to Casual Gaming, Nintendo has teamed up with Japan-based stock exchange Nikkei to make a new game based on the workings of the stock market. The objective of this stock exchange game is “to make learning about the economy fun.” The game will cover the basics of the economy (i.e. how it works, keywords used).
Perhaps it’s just me, but the only fun part about financial talk is the money that I get.
The game is said to be similar to Nintendo titles like Big Brain Academy and Dr. Kawashima’s Brain Training. From the looks of things, the game probably won’t make it out of Japan, especially since the topic is about the Japanese stock market. Unless of course Wall Street decides to jump in and produce a similar DS game.

Ninetendo would do well to replicate a US based stock market game called Mr. Bigshot. Seems as though it would be a easy fit for DS.
Interesting idea. I don’t know if any publisher has the guts to take on such a game, though–unless U.S. stock exchanges imitate what Nikkei did. Might be a good time for people to start learning about stocks because it’s the perfect time to buy.
