Grand Theft Auto DS is coming this winter
September 8, 2008 by Mike
Take-Two told Joystiq that Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars is coming to the Nintendo DS this winter. If you live in North America, “winter” could stretch from November to sometime next year. Aside from this, no other information about the game is currently available.
There has been speculation, however, that the DS version would come with Wi-Fi. If one would look closely at the game’s home page, there’s a logo of the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. As for the debate between 3D or 2D graphics, we can only wait until the official screenshots are given out.
When Take-Two bosses asked if GTA: Chinatown Wars is coming before Christmas, they were quick to tell Joystiq that “they didn’t say that.” As for the likelihood of a pre-Christmas release happening, we at Daily Nintendo it could go both ways. If you recall what happened with Grand Theft Auto IV, Take-Two decided to forgo the October 2007 release “due to additional development time required to complete the title.”
For all we know, this winter release date could change to spring 2009. Whatever the case, expect more news on GTA: Chinatown Wars as they come out.
